Fat Badger to Open New Whitby Venue at the Royal Hotel

The Harrogate‑based HRH Group has announced plans to open a new Fat Badger venue in Whitby, expanding the popular gastropub brand to the North Yorkshire coast.

The opening — set within the landmark Royal Hotel — marks the group’s third Fat Badger site and caps what HRH Group describes as “one of its most exciting years” since launching 15 years ago.
The new Whitby location follows the success of the established Fat Badger pubs in York and Harrogate, bringing the brand’s signature food, atmosphere, and characterful design to one of the region’s most visited seaside towns.
